Parquet

Parquet is a type of coating used in flooring. As it is a natural material, parquet floor coverings are used extensively in construction works.

Today, in the use of forest products, laminate parquet and parquet types are used instead of traditional solid wood parquet due to environmentalist approaches and economic reasons. When installing parquet flooring, a plastic mattress is placed under the parquet to prevent stiffness. In addition, skirting is added to the bottom edges to give the parquet an aesthetic appearance at the wall edges.

Laminate is a coating plate obtained by impregnating paper with the desired color and pattern in the printing house with resin. The resin impregnation process is also called paper impregnation. Impregnation is the process of drying the papers impregnated with resin materials such as melamine formaldehyde and urea formaldehyde by oven.

Laminate flooring is produced by gluing laminate veneers on MDF, HDF or chipboard boards of 7–8 mm thickness, which are cheaper than qualified wood. There are also those produced using carcinogenic adhesives. [Citation needed] The bonding process is done using adhesives under heat and pressure. Plates produced in large layers are cut to desired dimensions, the joints are opened according to the attachment detail and packaged and presented for use. Laminate flooring does not require any treatment such as smoothing or polishing.

Laminate flooring is the most widely used decorative floor covering today due to its cheap prices and easy and fast applications. It is the best product for its price as floor covering.

Laminated parquet is produced by gluing several layers of wood material together and applying a thin coating of qualified wood on them. Laminated flooring usually consists of three layers. Two wood layers of 5–10 mm thickness and a layer of wood suitable for parquet 2–5 mm thickness are glued with glue in a hot press with the veins perpendicular to each other.

Laminated parquets offered for use as polished do not require any correction or polishing after the assembly process.

Laminated flooring differs from laminate flooring as follows; MDF is used in laminate flooring, while the material in between is wood in laminated flooring. That’s why laminated wooden parquet flooring price is more expensive than laminate flooring.

Traditional first used parquet type. It is made by cutting well-dried wood of suitable quality into thin layers and strips in thicknesses such as 16-20 mm. In the construction of traditional parquets, hard woods such as oak, hornbeam, ash and rosewood are used for durability. Traditional parquet is called “solid parquet”.

In the application, solid parquet pieces of 16–18 mm thickness 3–13 cm width 20–100 cm length are glued to the floor with glue, if there are gaps, the joints are dampened with a mixture of emery powder and varnish, the surface is leveled with thick to fine sanders and polished. it is made ready for use.

Solid parquet requires skilled labor in practice and is more permanent than other parquet types, although it is expensive. (For example: the stuffed garden palace, the parquets that were still laid in the topkapi palace at that time defy the history.) In this context, solid parquet has the life of the building.
